Appointments
To set up an appointment, or to discuss a case, please call
401-444-3996, Monday-Friday from 8 am to 4:30 pm. (Acute
cases in which abuse may have occurred within the past 72
hours may be referred directly to the emergency department,
where a child protection physician may be consulted to examine
and assess the patient.

The Child Protection Program at Hasbro Children's Hospital offers
a full range of services, including:
- Specialized medical services to diagnose children who may have
been sexually abused, including state-of-the-art medical equipment
as an adjunct to diagnosis.
- Comprehensive medical examinations to assess physical injuries
that may have been the result of abuse.
- Medical, family, and social histories obtained by child abuse
specialists to aid in the protection of children.
- Family support, including education about the behavioral/emotional
impact of abuse on children and appropriate caretaker responses.
- Referral information for ongoing therapy with clinicians specializing
in the treatment of abused children.
- Collaboration with state child protection agencies, child advocacy
centers, law enforcement agencies, and the office of the Attorney
General.
- 24-hour medical consultation services for abuse cases requiring
emergent responses.
- Expert medical in-patient consultation with issues of suspected
abuse, neglect, or factitious disorders by proxy are involved.
- Lectures/presentations to provide community education about
child abuse and maltreatment.
