With the addition of the new center, appointments for
imaging services are available sooner; non-urgent patients
are seen within days, rather than weeks.
Our flexible scheduling
also allows us to meet urgent pediatric imaging needs,
which is critical to providing prompt diagnosis and treatment.
The expanded facility will be better able to support the
emergency department at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, which
is the state’s only emergency department specifically for
pediatric patients. We offer 24-hour emergency coverage
by physicians, nurses and technologists who specialize in
pediatric patient care.
The center’s radiologists are the state’s only board-certified
radiologists who specialize in pediatric imaging. They are
members of the multidisciplinary team at Hasbro Children’s
Hospital, and they work closely with the hospital’s specialists
and sub-specialists, including pediatric surgeons,
orthopedists, urologists, hematologists, oncologists and
gastroenterologists. This collaboration ensures that
each patient diagnosed at the Center for
Pediatric Imaging is promptly referred to the
appropriate physician for care.
The center’s radiologists stay in close contact with
each patient’s primary care physician to ensure
continuous, high quality care. Pediatricians and family
practice physicians are welcome to call the center’s
medical staff at any time.
