The mission of the division of pediatric infectious diseases
is to provide expertise in the diagnosis, management and prevention
of pediatric infectious diseases, including antimicrobial therapy,
appropriate use of microbiological and immunological tests, and
immunizations. In addition to patient care, the division is actively
involved in medical education and research.
Patient care services include inpatient consultations and outpatient services. The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Clinic sees patients on the lower level of Hasbro Children's Hospital. All appointments are scheduled after a consultation with the child's primary care provider and one of our infectious disease attending physicians. To initiate a patient referral, physicians should call 401-444-8360 and ask to schedule his/her patient. The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Clinic meets Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1 to 5 p.m. The Pediatric Infectious Diseases Clinic has expertise in the following areas:
The Pedi II Clinic for HIV infected children and adolescents is collaboratively sponsored by Hasbro Children's Hospital and AIDS Care Ocean State. The clinic provides medical services for HIV infected children and infants born to HIV-infected mothers. Children are seen in the Pedi II Clinic at Coro West on Tuesday afternoons. The International Adoption Clinic provides international adoption-related advice and consultation. The International Adoption Clinic meets on Monday mornings. Find out more
