Burn Care and Pressure Garments

Hasbro Children's Hospital has a specialized pediatric burn care coordinator on site. Burn assessment in our department is done in conjunction with a physician. We coordinate the care of the burned area, any remaining scar and any therapy needed to treat functional limitations.

We use custom-measured pressure garments on the surface of a burn scar to prevent the scar from becoming hypertrophic (a raised growth with a tumor-like appearance).
