Pediatric Transport Service
 How
It Works
Physicians and other health care providers may access our dedicated
transport line, 401-444-6600, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
This access line is housed in the pediatric
intensive care unit. The pediatric critical care attending physician
serves as medical director for all pediatric transports.
Pediatric transport is primarily a ground transport service, but
air transport can be arranged when the patient's condition necessitates
it. This decision is made collaboratively by the referring institution
and the transport medical director.
Consultation services with the pediatric critical care attending
physicians are also available whether or not transport is
requested.
This resource is available to all pediatric health care
providers, hospital emergency staff and referring physicians
throughout Southeastern New England. Together we can provide
children with the best possible pediatric care.
