  • Menstrual Cramp Study

  • Does your daughter suffer from menstrual cramps?

    If your daughter has a history of moderate to severe menstrual-related pain, she may qualify for an investigational medication (oral contraceptives) research study being conducted at the adolescent health care center of Hasbro Children's Hospital.

    To participate in this study, your daughter:

    • Must be between the ages of 13 and 17
    • Must have regular menstrual cycles
    • Must agree to use only allowed medications while in the study
    • Must not have a history of pelvic inflammatory disease
    • Must not have a condition where she should not take oral contraceptives
    • Must not have had sex, nor plan to become sexually active during the study

    Volunteers who qualify may receive at no cost:

    • Study-related medical care
    • Study medication
    • Compensation for time and travel

    Participation is completely voluntary.
