Myra J. Edens, RN, MSN, FACHE, NE-BC,has been administrative director of pediatric patient services at Hasbro Children's Hospital since 1995. Edens is responsible for executive level management of the acute care units and pediatric intensive care unit, including the design, implementation, evaluation and continuous improvement of programs and systems of pediatric patient care delivery. Edens participates in and contributes to the overall management of the hospital, including the establishment, implementation and ongoing evaluation of the organization's priorities, goals and objectives.
From 1991 through 1995, Edens was the director of women's/children's medicine at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. She served as the director of nursing support services from 1990 to 1991.
Edens has held various positions in health care settings such as associate director of staff resources at Shands Hospital at the University of Florida from 1987 to 1989, interim director of women's health from 1987 to 1988, and supervisor of the neonatal intensive care units I and II from 1976 through 1987.
Edens received her master's degree from the University of Florida and is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, American Organization of Nurse Executives and Sigma Theta Tau.
In addition, Edens has served on the boards of The Providence Ronald McDonald House, March of Dimes, and the American Medical Resources Foundation.
