Newport Hospital's department of pediatrics provides care to infants,
children and adolescents in Newport County and its surrounding areas.
Pediatric care includes orthopedics, medical-surgical treatment,
pediatric trauma and any disease process that warrants hospital
admission. When necessary, patients can be transferred to special
care facilities immediately.
The department is fully staffed and open 24 hours a day. The pediatric
care team includes:
- Board-certified pediatricians
- Family practice physicians
- Specialty trained registered nurses
- Certified nursing assistants
In addition, the department offers several services and programs
to its surrounding community. These include:
- Classes in infant/child CPR
- Tours of the department and operating room for school-age children
