Personal Computer Classes
Newport Hospital offers free hands-on personal computer classes
for employees in the hospital's computer room in the Gage building,
3rd floor. If you are an employee and would like more information about
any of these classes or would like to register for the next available

- Introduction to Excel (January 19 and 20,
2006)
9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Students will learn how to create and modify an Excel worksheet
using the auto functions to calculate numeric data. Other topics
to be covered include valuable timesaving techniques, how to creat
charts based on numeric and test data and printing Excel worksheets.
- Intermediate Excel (March 27 and 28, 2006)
This class provides a perfect opportunity to review the basic Excel Skills as well as add functions that are more advanced and facilities to your Excel applications. You’ll learn modification of worksheets, AutoFormats, using graphic objects, Auto Filers, modifying embedded charts, etc.
- Introduction to Microsoft Word (April 25 and 26, 2006)
9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
In this class, students will learn how to create professional
documents, one of the most fundamental and important office skills
to have. Topics to be covered include word basic skills, formatting
text, enhancing the document's appearance, proofing and printing
the document.
- Introduction to Power Point (February 13 and 14, 2006)
9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
The focus will be the many functions of Outlook: e-mail,
calendar, journal, task list, contacts, and how you can customize
the appearance and function of each to suit your daily work needs.
Functions such as attachments to e-mail, use of Outlook today,
organizing all functions, tracking your work and sharing calendars
will each be mastered.
