Newport Hospital Pediatric Services
Parent Guide
What should we bring to the hospital?
Many families choose to bring the following:
- A bathrobe
- Slippers
- Toothbrush
- Toothpaste
- Pajamas (Hospital pajamas are available and must be worn on
the day of most surgeries, but some children prefer to wear their
own from home. )
Comforts
In addition, whether your child's visit is an expected or unexpected
he/she may feel more at home with:
- a few familiar toys
- game books
- a blanket
- a picture of the family or pet
What to leave at home:
- All valuables
- Your child's home medications (The hospital's pharmacy will
supply all medications while your child is in the hospital.)
Remember, if you have any questions
concerning your child's hospitalization please feel free to ask
your pediatrician or one of the pediatric nurses. For more information
