Surgical Services
As an employee of Newport Hospital for the past twenty years, I have
worked as a dietary aide, unit secretary, nurse's aide and a registered
nurse. Newport Hospital has always provided me with opportunities for
growth. With the help of tuition reimbursement and a specially designed RN
to BSN program through Salve Regina University, I am now pursuing my
bachelor's degree in nursing.
My current position is in the post anesthesia care unit (PACU). Caring
for different developmental ages and levels of acuity allows me to use my
critical care and emergency room nursing skills.
Living in this community is delightful—the beautiful beaches in the
summer, the country roads in the fall—and my children are fortunate
to attend one of the highest rated elementary schools in the state. Working
in a community-based hospital has always been a positive experience for me
and I believe patients and their families find comfort in seeing a
familiar face.
