 Karen Cordeiro, RN
IV Therapy
Starting as a nurse’s aide 31 years ago, I became an RN through the Newport Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1983. After a short time in med/surg, I found my specialty, IV therapy, where I’ve been for 21 years.
Our department is small, yet large in experience, expertise, knowledge, compassion and dedication. We provide inpatient and outpatient IV therapy services.
Our inpatient services are utilized throughout the entire hospital as we work collaboratively with all other departments to provide the safest, gentlest, and most effective care possible. Newport Hospital’s medical and surgical units are new, with state-of-the-art equipment. All our specialty units are new and offer great orientation for newcomers. The wages are competitive and the benefits package is great!
I went into nursing because I wanted to help and care for those who were ill; I stayed for that reason and for all the reasons I’ve found at Newport Hospital.
