IV Therapy
I've been a registered nurse at Newport Hospital since 1985, when I
graduated from the Newport Hospital School of Nursing. While I had
originally intended to work for Newport Hospital for just one year after
graduation, here I am almost 17 years later! For most of my employment
here I have worked as a float nurse on the evening shift, which provided
me with experience in all areas of nursing. Last year, I "found my
home" and accepted a position in IV therapy. We are a small
department, but we do a great job and provide a very important service to
our patients.
I have enjoyed my 17 years here at Newport and have made a lot of
friends over the years. With a job so close to home, I am never very far
from my family. The wages here are competitive with area hospitals and I'm
happy with my benefit package, especially my health insurance and tax
sheltered matched savings plan.
For a community hospital of our size, we are very progressive. I'm
proud to work for a hospital like Newport; I can feel secure in having my
friends and family come here for their care.
