Falling is one of the most common causes of injury, particularly in
older
age groups.
One in every three adults between the
ages of 65 and 85, and one in
two of those who are 80 and older, will experience a
fall this year.
20 to 30 percent of these falls will lead to
serious injury.
The fear of falling causes people to restrict their daily activities. This
can ultimately lead to “missing out on life” and feelings of isolation
and loneliness.
