Children Give Up Birthday Presents to Benefit Young Patients
March 29, 2006

The gifts donated are used by young patients throughout the hospital.

Five-year-old Zachary Lindo and his two sisters, Allie, 8, and Nicole, 6, may be young, but they have already learned the importance of giving back to the community. At each of their birthday parties, the young philanthropists ask family and friends to bring an item to donate to Hasbro Children’s Hospital in lieu of a birthday present. As a result, the Lindo children have given numerous children’s books and arts and crafts items to the hospital throughout the past year and plan to continue the tradition. Most recently, Zachary, who turned five on March 7, gathered paper, crayons, glue and other craft supplies from guests at his birthday party and donated them to the children at Hasbro Children’s Hospital.
