Natasha Shur, M.D., Joins Hasbro Children's Hospital

Natasha Shur, M.D., of Providence, recently joined the staff in the division of genetics at Hasbro Children's Hospital, which evaluates, counsels and treats people of all ages with suspected birth defects, connective tissue disorders, developmental delay or other genetic disorders.
Shur’s research interests include epigenetic changes in monozygotic twins—or changes in DNA over time in identical twins. Other interests include breast cancer and novel oncogenes (genes that transform into cancer cells) and prenatal genetics. Before joining Hasbro Children’s Hospital, Shur was a fellow in genetics at Montefiore Medical Center in New York, where she also completed her residency in pediatrics. Shur earned her medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and her undergraduate degree from University of Virginia.
Shur is an assistant professor of pediatrics at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and a diplomate of the American College of Medical Genetics. Shur is fluent in Russian and proficient in Spanish.
