The Anne C. Pappas Center for Breast Imaging at Rhode Island Hospital has opened a new center for women requiring routine screening mammograms. The new facility offers faster access to state-of-the-art care and shorter wait times.
The Pappas Center, which was the first in the state to offer digital mammography, has added additional digital mammography units to serve the increasing demand for breast screenings and diagnostic imaging. Located at 2 Dudley Street, the center will also continue to offer further diagnostic imaging needs in the same location.
It is the only facility in the state to have earned a designation as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence from the American College of Radiology
Director of the Pappas Center, Martha Mainiero, MD, says, “Our new screening center has allowed us to increase our capacity to meet the needs of women in the region. With a long history of exceptional care and the latest in equipment, the women of our region can quickly receive an appointment for a routine screening and feel confident that they are receiving the best possible care.”
