White Coat Ceremony Marks Bright Futures for Members of Young Doctors Club
May 16, 2008

On Tuesday, May 20, Hasbro Children’s Hospital will host the White Coat Ceremony, a graduation celebration for students in the Young Doctors Club. At 3 p.m. in the hospital’s Lower Lobby, students will listen to words of encouragement from hospital leaders and community officials, as well as receive their white coats as a symbol of their dedication to professions in medicine.

The Young Doctors Club is a partnership between Rhode Island Hospital’s internal medicine department and Roger Williams Middle School. Science teachers at the school and physicians in the medical and pediatric residency programs at Rhode Island Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital serve as program educators. This program empowers students by increasing their life sciences knowledge and allowing them to explore careers in health care.
