The Miriam Hospital launches new patient email service

(posted December 11, 2008)

Have a friend or relative who is currently a patient at The Miriam Hospital? Brighten their day by sending a personal email greeting, part of a free, online service now offered by The Miriam Hospital to make it even easier to offer words of comfort and encouragement to loved ones in the hospital.

“The support and connection to family and friends are important to the healing process,” said Jeni L. Mowry, manager of volunteer and customer services at The Miriam Hospital. “In just minutes, and with a few clicks of the mouse, you can let your loved ones who are in the hospital know you’re thinking about them and wishing them a speedy recovery.”

All emails are received by the hospital’s volunteer services office and will be printed out and hand-delivered to the patient’s room during business hours. These greetings are similar to sending a postcard by mail, so loved ones are asked not to include any sensitive or confidential information.
