Hasbro Children’s Hospital receives blankets made by Rhode Island Alzheimer’s Association

(posted January 6, 2009)

The Alzheimer’s Association Rhode Island Chapter recently presented several handmade Linus blankets to Hasbro Children’s Hospital. The blankets will be given to young patients at the hospital to provide warmth and comfort to the children during their stay. The children can then take the blankets home with them afterwards.

The Alzheimer’s Association hosts a “Live and Learn” program in three locations across Rhode Island to promote social interaction and skills development to compensate for changes in memory for persons with early memory loss. The most recent project at the program’s Warwick Library location included making Linus blankets to be given to sick children who are hospitalized.
