Research shows that 70 percent of adult height depends on genes and gender. Outside factors, such as nutrition and exercise, account for the remaining percent. 

The following calculation is based on the Khamis-Roche Method, which was developed as an alternative to bone-age x-ray. The calculation is not fool-proof, but is considered nearly 95 percent accurate.
