Consultation Liaison Services brings the diagnostic and treatment capabilities of psychiatry to the bedside of medical and surgical inpatients. Consultation services are provided by a multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, neuropsychologists, psychiatric nurse clinicians, psychiatric social workers and psychiatry residents.

Commonly addressed clinical problems include behavioral problems associated with traumatic brain injury, delirium, dementia, seizure and stroke, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, psychosis, substance abuse and neuropsychiatric symptoms that stem from medical illness. Services are provided at the request of medical or surgical attending physicians. Specialized outpatient consultation programs are associated with the Renal Transplant Program, the Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Alzheimer's Disease and Memory Disorders Center.
