The neuropsychology program services include comprehensive memory and cognitive assessment and treatment recommendations for children, adolescents, adults and older adults with for known or suspected neurologic or neuropsychiatric disorders, such as:
Services also include disability, forensic and competency evaluations, cognitive rehabilitation, school consultations and counseling/education for patients and families with neurological disorders.
The program provides consultation to the Alzheimer's Disease and Memory Disorders Center, Comprehensive Epilepsy Program, and the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Hasbro Children's Hospital.
In addition to memory and cognitive assessment, the Neuropsychology Program provides consultation to families and other caregivers who are experiencing difficulty adjusting to or managing their loved one's memory difficulties and other cognitive and behavioral problems.
The program has active research programs focused on children (epilepsy, cancer) and adults (dementia,multiple sclerosis, epilepsy). In addition, we conduct ongoing studies to understand and treat the stress associated with caring for someone with dementia.
