What
the kids have to say about it.
Fifth grade students at Laurel hill Elementary School in Olneyville recently completed a unit in heart health. Most kids cheered the idea that physical activity is good for you but—no surprise—they were less enthusiastic about eating more vegetables:
Ramon: "I like peas, corn and celery. It makes me feel better than eating hamburgers and grease."
Tanya: "If you don't eat right, you could damage your heart. But I still don't like broccoli, spinach or corn."
Ratana: "I decided that even though I still really don't like vegetables, I have to eat them for my own good."
