Background
Martha Mainiero, MD, is a radiologist and the director of the Anne C. Pappas Center for Breast Imaging at Rhode Island Hospital. She is also director of the diagnostic imaging residency program and is a member of the hospital’s graduate medical education committee. Mainiero is an associate professor at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
She received both her bachelor’s degree and her medical degree from Tufts University, receiving the Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Award for graduating first in class from Tufts University School of Medicine. She completed her internship in Medicine and Surgery at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, her residency in Diagnostic Radiology and a fellowship in breast and chest imaging at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
In addition to numerous publications, peer-reviewed articles and abstracts, she is also the associate editor for education for the Journal of the American College of Radiology. In recognition of her work in research and education, she was elected as a fellow of the Society of Breast Imaging and of the American College of Radiology.
