Petra Klinge, MD, is an attending neurosurgeon with the Neurosurgery Foundation, where she provides patient care through neurosurgical services at Hasbro Children’s Hospital, and engages in research and education as a faculty member at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. Klinge specializes in diagnosing and treating patients with hydrocephalus disorders, congenital diseases of the spine, and benign and malignant tumors of the brain and spine. She has extensive expertise in pediatric head trauma and brain injury.
Klinge is internationally renowned for diagnosis and neurosurgical treatment of patients with hydrocephalus and Alzheimer’s dementia. Her research includes work on pediatric cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) disorders and she is president of the International Society for Hydrocephalus and CSF disorders. Klinge received her medical degree at the University of Kiel and completed her neurosurgical residency and pediatric neurosurgery training at Hannover Medical School in Germany. She was senior physician and assistant professor of neurosurgery at the International Neuroscience Institute in Hannover, Germany, and was associate professor at the Hannover Medical School.
