Edward Wittels, MD, is an expert in blood disorders, hematologic malignancies, hematology/oncology and the site director for hematology/oncology at The Miriam Hospital.
Wittels is an associate professor of medicine at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where he co-leads/instructs integrated medical services IV and is a co-director for the Core Clerkship in Medicine for The Miriam Hospital. He is a past recipient of the Dean’s Teaching Excellence Award. He has also been named a “Top Doctor” of hematology by Rhode Island Monthly magazine nine times.
Wittels is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology, Cancer and Leukemia Group B, a national clinical research group sponsored by the National Cancer Institute, National Surgical Adjuvant Project for Breast and Bowel Cancers, Brown University Oncology Group and Rhode Island Medical Society. He is board certified in hematology and medical oncology.
A graduate of Fordham University, Wittels received his medical degree from State University of New York. He served his residency in internal medicine at The Miriam Hospital/Brown University and completed a fellowship in medical oncology/hematology through New York University Medical Center.
