Ariel Birnbaum, MD, is a medical oncologist in the Comprehensive Cancer Center at Rhode Island Hospital, where he specializes in head and neck and lung cancers. He is also an assistant clinical professor at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
Birnbaum is currently the program planner for the head and neck tumor board and is also on the board of the Multidisciplinary Thoracic Clinic at Rhode Island Hospital. He is the founder of the Rhode Island Head and Neck Cancer Project, a non-profit organization to support patients and their family members who have been diagnosed with head and neck cancer.
Birnbaum received his bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and received his doctorate at the medical college of Ohio. He was awarded ‘Best Diagnostician’ by the internal medicine program and received the ‘Educator of the Year’ award.
