Theresa Graves, MD, is a surgeon specializing in breast surgery at Rhode Island Hospital where she also serves as the breast clinic coordinator, coordinator of the breast tumor board and the surgical director of the cancer and leukemia group and is also a member of the hospital’s Ethics Committee. She is an assistant professor of surgery at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and was named one of the “Top Docs” for breast surgery by Rhode Island Monthly magazine for five years.

Graves received her bachelor’s degree in biology from Yale University and her medical degree from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. She completed her residency at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center, where she also served as the chief surgical resident and an intensive care preceptorship at the US Army Institute of Surgical Research, Burn Study Branch in Texas.

She currently serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Oncology. She is also an author of numerous original publications and articles in peer-reviewed journals as well as chapters, books and abstracts.
