Anthony Mega, MD, is an expert in prostate cancer at The Miriam Hospital and director of the hospital’s multidisciplinary genitourinary clinic, which treats cancers of the urinary tract and male genital tract. He has published extensively on bone marrow stem cell disorders, AIDS-related lymphoma and cancer treatments such as radiation. He has also published in the field of medical education.
Mega is associate professor of medicine (clinical) at The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where he directs the hematology/oncology fellowship program. He is a past recipient of The Riesman Family Excellence in Teaching Award and the Brown University Beckwith Family Award for Outstanding Teaching. He has also twice been named a “Top Doctor” of hematology by Rhode Island Monthly magazine.
Mega is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, American Society of Hematology and Cancer and Leukemia Group B, a national clinical research group sponsored by the National Cancer Institute. He is board certified in hematology and medical oncology.
A graduate of Brown University, Mega received his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School. He served his residency and chief residency in internal medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in New Hampshire and completed a fellowship in medical oncology/hematology through the Brown University affiliated hospitals.
