Once the charge has hit your responsibility center, which usually is within a month or two of ordering the piece of equipment, Research Administration will send you a copy of the database record along with the silver identification tag number to be affixed to the piece of equipment. It is your responsibility to make sure that the tag number assigned matches the purchase order number in which it was purchased from. Research Administration at that time may require additional information (e.g., serial numbers, locations, contact name, etc.).
If the silver tag at any time falls off a piece of equipment, please contact Jill Martin at 444-5196. She will issue another tag number to you and changes will be noted in the equipment database.
Re-Inventory We are required to re-inventory federal capital equipment within 2 years from the last inventory date. Research Administration will send you a copy of the database record along with a re-inventory form which will need to be completed and returned ASAP to Research Administration.
