Submission Process for Grants & Funding

Please be advised that all externally funded submissions must first be submitted to Research Project Management (RPM) as stated in the ORA policy.

    1. Immediately notify your Research Administrator (RA) of intent to apply for external funding of a research project. Refer to the sponsor guidelines for appropriate content.

    2. Identify and complete the required forms for RPM

    3. Prior to submission to RPM, Principal Investigator (PI) and
      Departmental signatures are required.

    4. Allow 10 business days prior to the sponsor’s deadline for RPM to process your application. Submit all complete original required documents (Lifespan Business forms and original sponsor forms), to your RA, for administrative review and approval. Include a copy of the sponsor guidelines, Program Announcement (PA), Request for Application (RFA), if applicable.

    5. Upon review of your application, you will be notified by your RA if corrections are required prior to institutional approval.

    6. When the original application has been approved, you will be notified by RPM that it is ready for pick up.

    7. Make the appropriate copies requested by the sponsoring agency and submit the application to the agency by the sponsor’s deadline.

    8. Forward one complete copy of the final application as submitted to the sponsor to your RA.
