Arnold-Peter Weiss, MD, is an internationally recognized hand surgeon and professor of orthopedics at The Warren Alpert School of Medicine at Brown University and Rhode Island Hospital. He specializes in hand and wrist reconstruction and total elbow replacement surgery.
Weiss is editor-in-chief of the Journal of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the holder of six U.S. patents for widely used medical devices. Weiss has been honored with the America's Top Doctors, Best Doctors in America, and America's Top Surgeons awards.
Weiss is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, where he received his BA and MD degrees. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital and a hand surgery fellowship at the Indiana Hand Center.
Weiss has published over 130 articles in medical journals, and regularly lectures throughout the world on hand and wrist reconstruction. He has served on the board of directors of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and currently serves on the board of directors of Kinetikos Medical, Inc. and the American Numismatic Society. He is a trustee of the Rhode Island School of Design and chair of the board of governors of the Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design.
