of our outpatient clinics:

The department of ambulatory care is committed to accessible, consumer oriented health care. We have incorporated both longitudinal and acute primary care, including a full range of specialty services.
Our focus is on the wellness of our patients and their families, within the context of the community setting. We ensure that care is maintained through our coordination of services and collaboration with community agencies.
We also are committed to research and education and collaborate with area universities to provide a model educational setting for residents, and medical and nursing students.
Most of our outpatient clinics
are located at the
Ambulatory Patient Center
(APC), the Medical Office Center
(MOC), the Physician Office
Building (POB) and the Coro
Center.
Many outpatient clinics
require a physician referral to
provide patient care. Please
speak with your primary care
physician for specialty referrals.
Our Services
Outpatient Rehabilitation Services,
including occupational
therapy, physical therapy and
hearing and speech clinics, are
located in the Coro Center.
This center includes a spacious
exercise room and a hydrotherapy
pool.
Rhode Island Hospital’s Neurology
Clinics, which include
Neurosurgery, Neurology and
Muscular Dystrophy Clinics,
provide diagnosis and treatment
for patients with diseases
or abnormalities of the nervous
system that require medical
management rather than
surgical intervention.
Our Ophthalmology Clinic provides diagnosis and treatment
of medical or surgical
abnormalities of the eye.
Patients who need a general
annual eye exam usually do not
require a physician referral.
Our Orthopedic Clinic provides
diagnosis and evaluation
for adult orthopedic patients
and determines their eligibility
for treatment or corrective surgery.
The clinic also cares for
patients with deformities or
bone infections. In addition, the
clinic administers post-operative
care for patients with corrected
bone or muscle deformities
and treats trauma patients.
The Dermatology Clinic at
Rhode Island Hospital provides
diagnosis, evaluation and
treatment for patients with
skin disorders. To inquire

The Hallett Center for Diabetes
and Endocrinology provides
outpatient care and education
for patients with diabetes
and endocrine disorders.
Appointments may be scheduled

Bone densitometry, using state-of-
the-art DEXA technology,
can be scheduled by calling
401-444-4322.
Our Gastrointestinal Clinic provides diagnosis and evaluation
for patients with gastrointestinal
problems.New patients
require a written physician
referral before they can be seen
at the clinic. To schedule an

The Medical
Primary Care Clinic promotes
preventive health care
and provides general evaluation
of medical problems, as
well as comprehensive medical
care for women. Patients must
be 18 years of age or older and
are seen by appointment only.

insurance company that this is
your primary care site.
Our HIV Clinic is a comprehensive
multidisciplinary
clinic that
provides primary
HIV care
and HIV consultation.
A previous
HIV-positive
diagnosis is a prerequisite
for an appointment at the
clinic. Continuity of care is
provided by an HIV nurse
practitioner, who is available
by phone at 401-444-1678.
Rhode Island Hospital’s Pulmonary
Clinic provides diagnosis,
evaluation and treatment
for patients with pulmonary
disease. All new patients require
a written physician referral
before being seen in the clinic.
Referrals for sleep disorders
should be sent to the Pulmonary
Clinic. To reach the clinic,

Our Rheumatology Clinic evaluates and treats patients
with rheumatoid diseases. All
new patients need a written
physician referral before making
an appointment. To reach

The Vascular Clinic at
Rhode Island Hospital
evaluates patients
who are referred
for vascular consultation.
The
clinic provides
pre-operativ
assessment
and post-operative care for
patients with vascular problems.
All new patients need a
physician referral to make an

appointment.
Located on the Rhode Island
Hospital campus, the Samuels Sinclair Dental Center provides
high quality dental care
to underprivileged children
and special needs children and
adults with developmental disabilities.
Patients are referred
to the center by Rhode Island
Hospital and its Hasbro
Children’s Hospital, Bradley
Hospital, community agencies
and private dental offices.
Our Surgical Clinics, have
numerous sub-specialty clinics.

each patient’s care

services, to ensure a convenient
and stress-free treatment experience,
tailored to the individual
