Choice Award
Rhode
Island Hospital has once again received the Consumer Choice Award
from the National Research Corporation.
 The
US Department of Health and Human Services Awards Rhode Island Hospital
Rhode Island Hospital was awarded by The US Department of Health
and Human Services for its consistent high rate of organ donation
for three quarters of 2005, scoring 69 percent. One of only nine hospitals
nationwide that scored between 65 percent and 75 percent in successful organ donations.
 Circle
of Life Award
The Medical Intensive Care Unit at Rhode Island Hospital was the
honoree of Cirle of Life Award given by the American Hospital Association.
One of only ten organizations from across the country were honored
by this award.
 Excellence
in Caring Award
The Rhode Island Hospital trauma intensive care unit staff received
the Excellence in Caring Award from the National Teaching Institute
of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses for the hospital's
commitment to nursing excellence.

Performance Improvement Leader by Solucient
Featured in Modern Healthcare, Rhode Island Hospital was named as
one of the nation's top performance leader hospitals by Solucient.
Cardiac Center of Excellence
Rhode Island Hospital was awarded the distinction of Cardiac Center
of Excellence for the New England community by United Healthcare.
Our hospital was recognized as a leader in providing cardiac services
for United Healthcare enrollees.
Center of Excellence for Kidney Transplantation
Our transplant program met the criteria required to continue as a Center of Excellence for kidney transplantation from Tufts Health Plan. This is a testament to the dedicated staff who coordinate our program.
Emergency Department Amoung the Busiest in the Country
Modern Healthcare ranked Rhode Island Hospital as the 23rd busiest emergency departments in the country.
