The new bridge building at Rhode Island Hospital, home to the new
emergency department received a 2005 “Build New England”
merit award from the Associated General Contractors of Massachusetts.

by National Cancer Commission
The Comprehensive Cancer Center at Rhode Island Hospital has
been granted a Certificate of Approval with Commendation from
the Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons. They also received a 3-year approval of its cancer program by the ACOS with four areas of commendation, including performance improvement. |

Hillside Family and Community Medicine, a family healthcare practice
has received the Honor Roll for Coverage award from the Healthcare
Leadership Council.
Hasbro Children's Hospital Recognized Among Best in the Country
Hasbro Children's Hospital has been named among the best children's
hospitals in the country by Child magazine, ranking 9th in
orthopedics.
Innovative Art Program Receives National Recognition
The "Art While You Wait" program at Hasbro Children's
Hospital's emergency department is one of five winners in the Blair
Sadler International Healing Arts Competition in the 2005 professional
category.
Quality Respiratory Care Recognition
The respiratory care department has received the Quality Respiratory Care Recognition from the American Association for Respiratory Care.
Rhode Island Medical Society Accreditation
Rhode Island Hospital has received a 4-year accreditation from the Rhode Island Medical Society to sponsor continuing medical education programs. A four-year accreditation is the maximum awarded and reflects the hospital’s commitment to the programs and the quality of our educational activities.
“Healthy Schools! Healthy Kids!” Award
Hasbro Children's Hospital’s community asthma programs received a 2005 “Healthy Schools! Healthy Kids!” award from the RI Department of Health and the RI Department of Education. The award is presented in recognition of the success of the Asthma and Allergy Center’s successful collaboration in the Providence School Department to bring asthma education to students. It was the second time in three years that the program was recognized for outstanding achievement.
