Cardiothoracic Surgery
Healing the Hearts of Our Smallest Patients
Pediatric surgery requires a dedicated team in the OR and ICU.
Our three pediatric surgeons are specifically trained for the unique
demands of the field, and our pediatric anesthesiologists are trained
in intraoperative transesphogeal echocardiography.
More than 80 percent of our pediatric procedures are performed
with minimally invasive or minimal access techniques. These include:
- Atrial and ventricular septal defects repair
- AV canal reconstructions
- Coarctation aorta
- Complex reconstructive surgeries for neonates, infants and children
- Complex re-operative surgeries
- Homograft valves
- Management
of rare congenital or structural cardiac problems in adults
- Outflow tract reconstructions
- PDA obliteration in premature infants
- Pulmonary artery repairs
- Ross procedure
- Single ventricular repairs
- Tetralogy flow (TOF Repair)
Easy Access for Physicians
Most referring physicians will call a surgeon directly, but the
1-888-CVT-SURG line is available for those physicians who want to
reach the division of cardiothoracic surgery, a specific doctor
or need information. Answered by a trained cardiac secretary, this
service will refer a physician's patient for a specific procedure
or to a specific surgeon.
