Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Cardiology Services
Comprehensive Services
The
cardiac catheterization lab diagnoses and treats adults and children
with disorders of the heart and blood vessels, including coronary
artery disease, congestive heart failure, valve disease, congenital
heart defects, cardiomyopathy and peripheral vascular disease. Annually,
we perform 3,795 diagnostic and interventional procedures.
We are uniquely experienced in diagnosing and treating patients
with a variety of disorders. Our services include:
Coronary Artery Disease
- diagnosis of coronary atherosclerosis by angiography and intravascular
ultrasound
- treatment of coronary artery and bypass graft lesions using:
- balloon angioplasty
- intracoronary stenting
- rotational atherectomy
- directional atherectomy
- brachytherapy (radiation therapy) with both beta and gamma
radiation for restenosis
- evaluation of endothelial function and coronary blood flow
- treatment of ischemic heart disease including endomyocardial
laser therapy and electromechanical mapping of the myocardium
- invasive computer based diagnosis
- percutaneous revascularization for management of acute myocardial
infarction
Pediatric and Adult Congenital Heart Disease
- diagnosis of congenital heart abnormalities
- percutaneous closure of atrial septal defects
- percutaneous pulmonary valvuloplasty for pulmonic stenosis
- stenting for pulmonary artery stenosis
Valvular Heart Disease
- diagnosis of valvular stenosis and regurgitation
Cardiomyopathy
- diagnosis and treatment of cardiomyopathic conditions using
endomyocardial biopsies
Pericardial Disease
- diagnosis of constrictive pericarditis and tamponade
- drainage of pericardial effusions
Aortic Disease
- diagnosis of aortic aneurysms including Marfan patients
- diagnosis of aortic dissection
