Jose Behar, MD is a professor of medicine at Brown University and former chief of the division of gastroenterology for Lifespan. He received his research training at Harvard Medical School and has occupied faculty positions at Yale University and Brown University. He is internationally recognized for his research in esophageal diseases, in particular, Barrett's esophagus. He is a highly regarded investigator on signal transduction processes of the esophagus.
