Feilei Huang
Senior Research Assistant
Feilei Huang is a senior research assistant for the proteomics core facility. She brings six years of experience in product marketing and laboratory research. She has extensive experience in DNA, RNA and protein sample preparation.
Her technical expertise includes the following biological applications:
- DNA and RNA isolation and purification
- RT-PCR; protein fractionation and immuno-affinity purification
- Chromatography, 1D and 2D electrophoresis
- Subcellular localization and electron microscopy
- Mass spectrometry- Ettan MALDI-ToF from GE Healthcare and ProteinChip from Ciphergen
- VersaDoc imaging system and sequence analysis software-DNASTAR Suites from Lasergene
- Gel documentation software-LabWork from UVP
Huang is a native of China. In 2000 she moved to Binghamton, New York where she earned her master of science degree in biochemistry, cell and molecular biology from State University of New York (SUNY). While at SUNY she was a teaching assistant for biochemistry, molecular genetics, organismal and population biology. She speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Her strong background in protein analysis, molecular and cell biology is a great asset to the proteomics core.
