Ewa M. Dzwierzynski, PharmD, BCPS, clinical pharmacy specialist at Rhode Island Hospital, was the third place “Cruising for a Cure Raffle” winner. Dzwierzynski in turn decided to donate it back to the COBRE Center for Cancer Research Development in memory of Germaine Berard. Berard passed away on Friday, November 16, 2007.

“I would like the $250 prize to be donated back to COBRE in memory of Germaine Berard, who passed away unexpectedly at Rhode Island Hospital on Friday, November 16th. She is the late mother of Christine Berard-Collins, our director of pharmacy. Germaine Berard was a patient at the Cancer Center and a cancer survivor! I am sure this money will do great things for cancer research!”
