Djuro Josic, MD is a professor of medicine and pathology at Brown University and director of the proteomic core in the COBRE Center for Cancer Research Development. He received his research training at Free University in Berlin, Germany and at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. Josic is internationally known for his expertise in the separation, isolation and identification of biopolymers, particularly membrane and plasma proteins. He has substantial practical experience with and knowledge of a large variety of analytical and preparative methods in this field including HPLC, 2-D gel electrophoresis, capillary electrophoresis, affinity purification methodologies, mass spectrometry and similar techniques. The author of more than 100 research articles and book chapters, he has reviewed manuscripts for multiple journals and was the chairman of International Symposium on the Separation of Proteins, Peptides and Polynucleotides (ISPPP12000) and a member of Scientific Committee of ISPPP 1998, 2002 and 2004.
