Magnetic Resonance Imaging Program
Admission Requirements
In order to be considered for admission into the Magnetic Resonance Program, each applicant must meet the following minimum requirements:
- ARRT registered radiologic technologist/ Rhode Island state license
- CPR Certified
- Have Six months to one year of recent clinical patient care in radiology
- Physically meet health requirements necessary to function as a MRI technologist
- Physical and proof of immunizations
- Pass a criminal background check
- Provide three references: one personal and two professional
- Participate in a four- to eight-hour clinical observation in the MRI department
The admission process is highly competitive. Be aware, in all phases of the admission process, you will be evaluated. There are unfortunately a select number of candidates chosen.
The MRI program director/clinical coordinator endeavors to select candidates with the most promise of becoming outstanding MRI technologists. The MRI clinical coordinator considers information that depicts an applicant’s total qualifications for the MRI program and practice without regard to race, color, gender, sexual orientation, gender identification or expression, genetic information, age, religion, national or ethnic origin, veteran or disability.
