Application Procedures

In order for an application to be processed, the following items must be submitted:

  • Completed application
  • $55 application fee 
    (Money order payable to: RI Hospital School of DI- Rad)
  • Official copies of transcripts from all colleges attended
  • Applicant essay
  • Two letters of reference

The application deadline each year is December 31. Applications received after this date will be considered for the class beginning the following year. Applications remain active for one year from the time they are received.

The school will contact you by mail confirming receipt of your application as well as information pertaining to the Health Occupations Basic Entrance Test (HOBET). The HOBET must be scheduled through the school office as soon as possible after receiving notification. HOBET exams are scheduled monthly on selected days. The HOBET exam will last approximately three hours.

Additional Information to Consider:

  • Applications are accepted year-round.
  • Application deadline is December 31.
  • The last date to request applications/attendance at open house for the program is December 1.
  • Applicants must schedule and attend a mandatory open house and the HOBET entrance exam.
  • Applicants selected for interviews are required to observe the clinical phase of the program.
  • Notification letters of conditional acceptance or denial for students will be mailed out on or before April 15.
  • Accepted program candidates will be scheduled for orientation in May.

It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that all required information (such as college transcripts, reference letters, and any changes to the applicant's address or phone numbers) are promptly sent to the school. Applicants with incomplete applications will not be considered.

Selection into the School of Diagnostic Imaging is made by an admissions committee. The committee has the responsibility of screening all qualified applicants for the program who have submitted the required records and credentials prior to the published deadline. The admissions committee will review files and interviews will be scheduled.

Acceptance is conditional pending receipt of the following documentation:

  • Medical clearance- personal physician physical
  • Proof of medical insurance
  • Criminal background check

Upon notification of acceptance, applicants are required to submit a $110.00 registration fee within fifteen days to assure them a place in the class. The registration fee will be deducted from tuition.
