Mission, Goals and Objectives
Mission Statement
The mission of the School of Diagnostic Imaging Radiologic Technology Program is to graduate students competent in the art and science of Radiography.
Goals
- Graduates will have entry-level employment skills.
- Graduates will have the communication skills and problem-solving and critical thinking skills to be an effective member of the health care team
- Graduates will have the skills necessary to provide appropriate patient care and comfort and recognize emergency patient conditions as well as when to initiate emergency life saving measures.
- Graduates will be encouraged to value life long learning as a means to achieve personal and professional growth.
- The program will provide qualified radiographers to meet the health care needs of the community.
Outcomes
- Graduates will have entry-level employment skills.
- Students will be able to position patient accurately for diagnostic radiographs.
- Student will be able to practice accurate and safe exposure factors to produce diagnostic radiographs.
- Students will be able to practice effective radiation safety skills to minimize radiation exposure to patients, self and others.
- Students will be able to evaluate radiographic images.
- Graduates will have the communication, problem-solving and critical thinking skills to be an effective member of the health care team.
- Students will be able to communicate effectively within the health care environment.
- Students will be able to think critically and problem-solve to act appropriately within the health care environment.
- Graduates will have the skills necessary to provide appropriate patient care and comfort and assess patient condition as well as understand when to initiate emergency life saving measures.
