The Andrew F. Anderson Emergency Center

New Center, New Operating Rooms, New Era

In April 2005, we unveiled the Andrew F. Anderson Emergency Center and ten new operating rooms—two additional, eight replacements—in the new emergency center on Dudley Street.

The new center, equipped with the latest medical technology, is truly a facility for the new century. It offers more than twice as many treatment rooms, an array of specialty areas and a new parking garage.

For patients and families, the new center means greater privacy and care that's more efficient and more responsive. With a spacious, better-organized facility, staff is working in an environment that nurtures their passion for excellence.

The Andrew F. Anderson Emergency Center is one of the nation's busiest and is the only Level I trauma center in southeastern New England. This is where the region's most critically injured and most ill people come. Now they find an emergency center that has more than doubled in size—from 21,700 square feet to 51,000 square feet and is able to serve 110,000 people annually.
