The Andrew F. Anderson Emergency Center
Built for You
Rhode Island Hospital opened a new emergency center in 2005 to
better serve the thousands of patients we care for every year. This
new facility was built for you, so that you and your family receive
the best care when you need it.
As the state's only Level I trauma center, we have the expert staff
and state-of-the-art technology to treat people with the most critical
injuries and illnesses. This new, more spacious emergency department
is designed to care for 110,000 patients a year, twice as many patients
as our old center. More room means increased privacy for patients as
well as reduced waiting times. In addition, we've added new, larger
operating rooms complete with the latest surgical equipment.
While all of us hope that we'll never need the services of an emergency
center, it's comforting to know that a great facility is right
here when you need it most.
