There are a limited number of registered vascular technicians; however,
there are many labs looking for trained and qualified technologists who
can perform doppler studies. These tests help to determine blood flow
to the extremities, heart, neck and brain.
We currently use ultrasound equipment with an emphasis on doppler flow analysis and transcranial doppler. This equipment is essential to determine the degree of flow present.

This department has plenty of room for individuals who like to work independently. Once properly trained, registered vascular technicians serve patients who need ultrasound testing of the head and neck. The job is an important tool to the neurology and neurosurgery departments to monitor their patients, as well as other medical patients. There are positions for those who would like to travel hospital-to-hospital or state-to-state. The need for vascular technologists is growing and jobs are becoming more readily available. It is a clean, fun and people-oriented environment that challenges the individual on a daily basis.
