Physicists

Physicists here in our department work with the most sophisticated treatment delivery devices on the east coast. Treatment equipment includes three Varian Linear Accelerators, one of which is the state-of-the-art Trilogy Stereotactic System.

The new Trilogy has the capability to perform conventional, 3-D and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) as well as stereotactic radiosurgery. The imaging capability includes two linacs with amorphous silicon portal imagers as well as on board imaging capability and ultrasound verification. Our Large Bore CT simulator and AcQSim can be accessed via our three IMRT capable planning systems including Pinnacle3, Eclipse and Corvus.

Our academic-based department allows physicists to be heavily involved with clinical physics while pursuing research opportunities through two affiliated medical schools, Brown University School of Medicine.
