Respect, Reward and Recognition

bannerThe Respect, Reward and Recognition (RR&R) Committee at Rhode Island/Hasbro Children’s Hospital is involved in planning and executing events to celebrate and recognize our employees for all the hard work they do throughout the year.

  • The RR&R’s largest and most popular event is Employee Appreciation Day. Recent themes for the events have included included "A Country Fair” and “A Day on the Hill.”

  • Human resources helps to celebrate employees by serving the traditional Holiday Meal. This annual event celebration, held in the cafeteria, includes a wonderful meal with all the fixings.

  • Each fall, warm apple crisp is served to employees in the cafeteria.

  • Other ongoing programs include a communication board in the RIH cafeteria, the RIH Certificates Program, years of service ID badge reels, and hospital logo items.

  • groupEvery spring, employees celebrating an anniversary starting with five-year intervals are invited to the Employee Appreciation Dinner Dance. Special recognition is given to those employees with 40 or more years of service; over the past two years we have celebrated three employees who have dedicated over 50 years of service. This is fun event for our employees to socialize, relax and enjoy a great meal.

  • The committee also participates in the employee, nurse, and manager of the month programs. These programs serve to identify and honor those employees who consistently demonstrate the organization’s values (compassion, innovation, teamwork and excellence) through a commitment to service, quality improvement, superior job performance and a constant promotion of positive interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors, fellow employees, medical staff, community resources and all others with whom they interact.

  • Rhode Island/Hasbro Children’s Hospital also has a vibrant Employee Activities Committee. This committee plans several employee trips throughout the year. Recent trips have included a weekend getaway to New York City to see a Broadway show, a 7-Night Cruise to the Caribbean, a weekend trip to see the Red Sox play the Baltimore Orioles, and a shopping trip to Canal Street in NYC. Seasonal events are also planned such as hayrides in the fall and trips to Rockefeller Center to see the Christmas Spectacular as well as the Wang Center in Boston to see White Christmas.
